An old favourite in many houselholds has to be Turmeric Milk. Here’s an excerpt from her website.
“An Anti-Inflammatory Drink
All this time, I have been making Turmeric lattes using whole milk, however, this time I wanted to share a dairy-free recipe with all my vegan friends. This Turmeric Latte recipe is made of coconut milk and black pepper. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin which is responsible for its incredible health benefits.
Adding black pepper to this drink improves the bioavailability of curcumin. Golden Milk (similar to Moon milk) is undoubtedly one of the healthiest drinks around! Still, need a reason to make this beverage? Read on.
Golden Milk Benefits
- For a good night’s sleep
- relieves from a sore throat, cough, frequent colds & gastrointestinal issues
- reduced inflammation
- improves memory
- promotes digestion
- boosts your immune system
- improves bone health
- for weight loss
- Add vegan milk to a pan and warm it for 2 minutes. I have used coconut milk (from a carton, not a can).
- Then add coconut cream and mix it together.
- Continue to simmer for another minute.
- Add turmeric powder, freshly crushed black pepper, ginger powder, and cinnamon powder.
- Whisk it all together and turn off the gas at the first boil.
- Sieve the milk if needed.
- A thick and creamy Turmeric Latte is ready.”
